The Strid Wharfedale

The Strid Wharfedale - Yorkshire Dales

The Strid is a unique landscape. The whole of the Rive Wharfe is forced into a narrow gorge about 30 feet deep. Falling in is fatal, as has unfortunately been proven in the past. As a photographer I sometimes venture very close to the edge, and have to be on my guard the whole time.
This image was made on a calm May morning of fresh green life, and a surging river.
