Autumn at The Strid

Autumn at The Strid - Yorkshire Dales

The footpath on the eastern side of The Strid Wood offers occasional glimpses of The Strid itself. The River Wharfe is forced through a narrow gorge only a few feet wide, creating a powerful torrent of water. This image was made on a peaceful mid-November morning, with the autumn colours looking superb on this stretch of the river.
